Ghalib, weeping raised a tumult in my heart again:the drop that had not come out as a tear came out a flood.

أبيات أخرى لـميرزا أسد الله خان غالب

• غمِ دنیا سے گر پائی بھی فرصت سر اٹھانے کیEven if I found leisure from the world's grief to raise my head,
• کہوں کیا خوبیِ اوضاعِ ابنائے زماں غالبؔWhat shall I say of the fine manners of the sons of the age, Ghalib?
• درد سے میرے ہے تجھ کو بے قراری ہائے ہائےMy pain makes you restless; alas, alas!
• عشق نے پکڑا نہ تھا غالبؔ ابھی وحشت کا رنگLove had not yet taken on the colour of madness, Ghalib;
• عشق مجھ کو نہیں، وحشت ہی سہیIt is not love I feel; call it madness, then;
• یار سے چھیڑ چلی جائے اسدؔLet the teasing go on with the beloved, Asad;
