• مرے قدح میں ہے صہبائے آتشِ پنہاںIn my cup is the wine of a hidden fire:
• حسن غمزے کی کشاکش سے چھٹا میرے بعدAfter me, beauty was freed from the strain of flirting:
• آئے ہے بے کسئ عشق پہ رونا غالبGhalib, I weep at love's helplessness:
• بلا سے ہیں جو یہ پیشِ نظر در و دیوارNever mind these walls and doors before my eyes:
• نہ لڑ ناصح سے، غالب، کیا ہوا گر اس نے شدّت کیGhalib, do not fight the counsellor; what if he was harsh?
