• آئینہ دیکھ، اپنا سا منہ لے کے رہ گئےShe looked in the mirror and was left with a look of her own:
• عرضِ نیازِ عشق کے قابل نہیں رہاI am no longer fit to offer love's devotion:
• بیدادِ عشق سے نہیں ڈرتا مگر اسدI do not fear love's cruelty, but, Asad,
• رشک کہتا ہے کہ اس کا غیر سے اخلاص حیف!Jealousy says, "Alas for her sincerity to the rival!"
• رخصتِ نالہ مجھے دے کہ مبادا ظالمGive me leave to lament, lest, cruel one,
• غافل بہ وہمِ ناز خود آرا ہے ورنہ یاںThe careless one, fancying her charms, adorns herself; otherwise here
