• بیمِ رقیب سے نہیں کرتے وداعِ ہوشFor fear of the rival we do not bid our senses farewell:
• زخم پر چھڑکیں کہاں طفلانِ بے پروا نمکWhere would heedless children sprinkle salt on the wound?
• غمِ ہستی کا، اسد! کس سے ہو جُز مرگ، علاجAsad, who can cure the grief of existence but death?
• گر تُجھ کو ہے یقینِ اجابت، دُعا نہ مانگIf you are sure the prayer will be answered, do not pray:
• ہے کس قدر ہلاکِ فریبِ وفائے گُلHow utterly destroyed is the rose by the deceit of faithfulness!
