• یک ذرۂ زمیں نہیں بے کار باغ کاNo speck of earth in the garden is useless:
• باغِ شگفتہ تیرا بساطِ نشاطِ دلYour blossoming garden is a carpet for the heart's delight;
• وہ میری چینِ جبیں سے غمِ پنہاں سمجھاShe read my hidden grief in the furrows of my brow,
• دل دیا جان کے کیوں اس کو وفادار، اسدAsad, why did you give her your heart, thinking her faithful?
• لب خشک در تشنگی، مردگاں کاDry-lipped in thirst, I am the shrine of the dead,
• تو دوست کسی کا بھی، ستمگر! نہ ہوا تھاTyrant, you were never anyone's friend;
