• ہر قدم دورئِ منزل ہے نمایاں مجھ سےAt every step the distance of the goal is plain because of me:
• نگہِ گرم سے ایک آگ ٹپکتی ہے، اسد!Asad, a fire drips from the hot glance:
• چاک کی خواہش، اگر وحشت بہ عُریانی کرےIf wildness brings the wish for tearing to nakedness,
• خطِّ عارض سے، لکھا ہے زُلف کو الفت نے عہدLove has had the tresses sign a bond with the down on the cheek:
• وہ آ کے، خواب میں، تسکینِ اضطراب تو دےLet her come in a dream and at least give comfort to my distress,
• اسد! خوشی سے مرے ہاتھ پاؤں پُھول گئےAsad, my hands and feet swelled with joy
