Tasleem ka Kalam (Poems of Tasleem)
تسلیم کا کلام
Ameerullah Tasleem
Sixteen ghazals by Ameerullah Tasleem of Lucknow (d. 1911), pupil of Naseem Dehlavi and teacher of Hasrat Mohani, who carried the line of Momin into the twentieth century: all his poems on Urdu Wikisource. Short, neat and witty in the Lucknow manner, they include a long mockery of the preacher, every couplet ending with "preacher", and a quieter note of faith: "Do not linger in the world; go on beyond the world." Complete Urdu text with a facing line-by-line English translation, introduction and glossary.
