Mir Mehdi Majrooh
Twenty-six poems by Mir Mehdi Majrooh of Delhi (d. 1903), Ghalib's favourite pupil and the "Mir Mehdi" of his famous letters: nineteen ghazals, six quatrains and a fragment, all his poems on Urdu Wikisource. Among them are two laments for Delhi after 1857, one ending every couplet with "never" and one praying that Ghalib be kept safe, "for in his name alone a trace of Delhi now remains", beside quick, idiomatic ghazals in the Delhi manner.
