Bekhud Dehlavi

Fifty-eight ghazals and a naat by Bekhud Dehlavi (d. 1955), pupil and heir of Daagh: all his poems on Urdu Wikisource. In plain, idiomatic Delhi speech they carry the teasing exchanges of lover and beloved into the twentieth century: "She is sulking, yet the teasing goes on: now a message comes, now betel." Complete Urdu text with a facing line-by-line English translation, introduction and glossary.
